30 Days of Lists: List One

Inspired by these awesome posts by the super talented Bianca at Goodnight Little Spoon, I have decided to start the 30 Days of Lists challenge! I'm kinda late starting, as the challenge started on the first of the month, but I'm so excited about it that I didn't want to wait until next month to start on the first!
It was hard to decide whether to create these lists in a collage journal form by hand or on the computer, but I decided I needed to get more comfortable with digital scrapping and that kind of thing, so this seemed like the perfect time.
The first list was "A Few Things About Yourself". This is my creation, and hopefully the first of many:

I hope these lists will help me get used to using the computer to create things as opposed to my hands! I also want to use the challenge as an opportunity to be more open and personal on this blog... so something I have been thinking about for a while but have found hard to put into practice. Also, I just love writing lists.
I definitely recommend checking out the 30 Days of Lists blog HERE, as that's where they post the daily challenge. They also have some great examples of other participants' lists for interest and inspiration. Yay, lists are so fun! Plus it's a great way to learn stuff about your fellow bloggers!

What I'm Wearing

Polyvore

I'm getting a bit of a 'businesslike' vibe off my outfit today - must be the shirt and blazer combination.

I went shopping for my younger sister's birthday present this afternoon. She's generally pretty hard to buy for but today I found a perfect book for her:

The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy and Other Stories. It's written and illustrated by Tim Burton (of Edward Scissorhands and Corpse Bride fame), and is absolutely sweet and funny - if a little macabre...
I just think it is so cute!

I would also recommend checking out Tim Burton's website. It's like walking through an animated art gallery - so fun!

"What I'm Wearing"

What I'm wearing - Polyvore
Polyvore is so much fun! Excuse my while I play around... I know a lot of blogs that I read do a "What I Wore" or daily outfit post of some sort - maybe this is my version of that. This is what I am wearing at the moment. I had uni this morning, and had lunch with my friend after. Apart from that, I've been sitting around home doing a bit of course work, a bit of blog reading, a bit of nothing... A very relaxing afternoon. It's also raining and grey here, hence the boots and cardi.

Get a Grip

New ATC entitled 'Get a Grip". The background is an old dressmaking pattern crumpled and PVA'ed to card.

ATC of the day...

Lots of texture in this one.

Glitter Pot

I love glitter, even photos of it! I painted a sheen of real glitter over the picture of it to give it the real shimmer effect, and added the dove with dimensional adhesive to make the wing stick out of the page.
This is part of a tag book I have recently started - the first page I already blogged about featuring a rocking horse and lace trim. More pages to come!

LIFE

The latest ATC - a little pastel and washed out in style. I'm finished exams and study for the semester - so I have two months in front of me to pack with creativity and inspiration. I'm looking forward to making lots and lots of art creations and sharing them!

Roses

Just a quickie photoshop collage today - I'm uber busy preparing for an exam on tomorrow morning. Oh how I wish I had started studying earlier this semester...

Rocking Horse

I love the colours of this tag - sometimes only pastels and lace will do!

I do love my florals...

This ATC was inspired by the scrap of floral wallpaper which I painted over and stuck to the card. Then I repeated the style over the rest of the ATC in a really textured, painterly style.

You Don't Know

Another crazy mixed-media ATC.

Two mixed-media ATCs. i have been experimenting with things extending out of the page - with both texture and dimension. I like the look of something sticking out from the usual border.

Crafty Catch-Up

I've been offline for a while because it's exam time again, and I should be studying... I'm taking four papers this semester, which means a full workload especially when it comes to exams! Anyway, I don't let that come in the way of my crafting - so here is my latest collection of postcards:

Another card...

This one was actually for a purpose! I love piling on lots of textures to a piece - hence the lace, tulle, glitter, AND metal brads on the one card...

Cards Continued...

The card at the top is my favourite one so far. I got the layout from a scrapbooking magazine and customised it to my colours and style. I also think the bird is adorable. That I stamped with permanent ink and then coloured it with watercolour pencils and water.

I'm in the crafty mood...

I've been in the card-making mood lately. I have no particular use in mind yet, but greeting cards always come in handy, and I'm terrible for remembering birthdays and anniversaries in advance - so it's good to have a card on hand!

Sweet as...

I popped this ATC into a cupcake themed swap for a partner. I simply printed out a cupcake and coloured it in with coloured pencils, added some rub-ons and stamps to a pink background and attached the cupcake with adhesive foam tape. So much pink always puts a smile on my face!

Recipes Book!

I finally got sick of my plain pink recipe binder cover, so I jazzed it up with a picture from an old calendar, some embellishments and  many layers of tinted acrylic medium. Apologies for the poor picture quality, it was taken in a hurry!
