Ah, sweet

Aww. These are the first cupcakes I made! I wasn't really into baking, I preferred cooking - things like chili and Rachel-Ray-style comfort food. Then my best friend gave me these cute-as cupcake papers and the tiered display and I never looked back! I love love love cupcakes!

(they were delicious, by the way - mocha swirl with buttercream icing)

Femmes Fatale

I love film noir. I love the characters, I love the settings, I love the dialogue... But my favourite part of any film noir is the femme fatale. There is such a strength about all of them, whether they are intentionally deceptive or not, and the way they lead men into danger by beating them at their own game? Go chicks!

I knew I had to use this magazine clipping in something as soon as I found it. It was too big for an ATC but perfect for the focal point of a postcard. I textured the background with inked bubble wrap and corks. The chick slightly creeps me out... but in a good way!
