Chocolate Overload

I also took time off from studying (what am I saying - more like I fitted in a bit of study in the gaps...) to bake these extreme chocolate-lovers' cupcakes. The cakes were chocolate fudge with dark chocolate ganache topping served with grated chocolate on top! I love chocolate but could only manage two of these in a day before succumbing to chocolate overdose, but my boyfriend ate four and showed no apparent signs of slowing down. I left some with him and shared the rest with my neighbour - who also loves chocolate. I judge these a success, but probably can only handle them very occasionally!

Crafty Catch-Up

I've been offline for a while because it's exam time again, and I should be studying... I'm taking four papers this semester, which means a full workload especially when it comes to exams! Anyway, I don't let that come in the way of my crafting - so here is my latest collection of postcards:

My Backyard

I can't remember the name of this tree... but it hangs over my backyard deck and has massive white flowers. I'm really intrigued by the insides of these flowers - look at those curls in the centre!

Pretty in Pink

I do love pink frosting! I put a mixture of berry flavourings in this batch, to go with the chocolate cupcakes underneath.

Last Night...

... I went to an amazing concert - Gin Wigmore for the first time in my city! I am a huge fan of kiwi-born Gin, and would recommend to anyone to check her out.  She was supported by a Sydney band I hadn't heard of called the Snowdroppers - and I have discovered that I am a bit of a fan! Their lead singer was crazy and cool with a great voice (and hot which doesn't do any harm...)

And the main act.... GIN WIGMORE:

More photos to come!

Another card...

This one was actually for a purpose! I love piling on lots of textures to a piece - hence the lace, tulle, glitter, AND metal brads on the one card...

I'm experimenting... but I like how these came out.

Cards Continued...

The card at the top is my favourite one so far. I got the layout from a scrapbooking magazine and customised it to my colours and style. I also think the bird is adorable. That I stamped with permanent ink and then coloured it with watercolour pencils and water.

More Cards

I'm in the crafty mood...

I've been in the card-making mood lately. I have no particular use in mind yet, but greeting cards always come in handy, and I'm terrible for remembering birthdays and anniversaries in advance - so it's good to have a card on hand!

Lunch

This is the delicious lunch I had at a restaurant yesterday - grilled chicken sandwich with fries. Yum... Just thought I would share!

Sweet as...

I popped this ATC into a cupcake themed swap for a partner. I simply printed out a cupcake and coloured it in with coloured pencils, added some rub-ons and stamps to a pink background and attached the cupcake with adhesive foam tape. So much pink always puts a smile on my face!

A Recommendation

I am completely infatuated with this girl's photography - it is GORGEOUS....

Recipes Book!

I finally got sick of my plain pink recipe binder cover, so I jazzed it up with a picture from an old calendar, some embellishments and  many layers of tinted acrylic medium. Apologies for the poor picture quality, it was taken in a hurry!

A Drive to Nowhere in Particular

I went for a drive around the outskirts of the city I live in the other day. I liked these back roads that seemed like they go on forever into the trees. I'm so lucky to live in a city where farming areas like this are only 30 minutes drive from my house.

Father's Day Cuppycakes!

My gift to dad for Father's Day - his favourite chili-chocolate cupcakes.

Ladylike

Another addition to my diary - a postcard made with a vintage society picture inked and distressed.

Sail Away....

ATC for a 'Mixed-Media ATC' swap. It's cut off the picture, but I attached some old chains and anchor charms to the edge, and raised the boat up with foam adhesive.

Diary Continued...

The inside cover of my diary - featuring my uni timetable.... But I just had to pretty it up a bit!

Sorry about the total lack of communication from me recently - has anyone else been having trouble uploading posts? Just me? Possibly due to the fact that I am a bit of a klutz with the whole internet/computer thing... Anyway prepare for a lot of catch-up posts starting now!
