I made red velvet cupcakes in the weekend. I basically love making them because the recipe calls for baking soda and vinegar together. If you remember primary school science and making 'volcanoes', this makes a great frothy reaction - very exciting! Also - unlike the volcanoes - the end result tastes good and is very cute with a swirl of buttercream on top. A win-win recipe really!
(although, as you can see from my picture, the mixture pulled away from the casings as it cooled for some reason, leaving weird craters)
